March 31 - Rhythm, Time, & Groove
April 7 - Telling A Good Story (Motivic Playing)
April 21 - Playing Longer Lines!
April 28 - Inspiration from Afro Cuban Rhythms

We’ve done these workshops over the past two years in various cities around the USA and Canada AND online for adult amateur and semi-pro musicians across the world. Our “Live and Online” Zoom conference format is something we've used extensively, and it works fantastically for this type of class interaction.

How It Works:
We get together on a video call, where everyone can see and hear each other. We send you a little information and a video ahead of time to help you get ready (if you choose to do so). And then, we dig in. We share the concepts for the workshop of the day, and then I play for you, AND you have the opportunity to play for me. We ask and answer questions, and it’s an interactive experience where you can be heard, be supported in your practice, and leave inspired.

Timing:
The workshop is from 2pm - 3:15pm EST (New York Time). The good news is that if you can’t join us for the entire class, we can send you the recording or the workshop, along with all of the material we’ll cover.

Nuts and Bolts:
The workshops are a maximum of 15 participants, so that we can really have some good quality time together. The audio and video from the workshop will be shared with you afterwards, so you can refer back to the workshop whenever you like. Our participants find incredible value in the JazzWire Workshops, and I’m thrilled to be able to offer them to you.

Cancellation Policy:
This is a limited offer and availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need to cancel at any time, for any reason, you will not be refunded, but 1) we are happy to send you the recording of the workshops, or 2) you may have the opportunity to apply a credit toward a future workshop. With specific questions or needs regarding this policy and/or service, please email us at matt.cleary@diggingdeeperjazz.com.
Online Workshop March 31st, 2 - 3:15pm EST: Rhythm, Time & Groove - $35
There is nothing more important to develop as a jazz player than having strong Rhythm and Time. And to be a high end player, we need to Groove too! What exactly are these things, how are they similar or different from each other, and how should we best practice them? In this workshop, Jeff will set you on a great path to swinging harder and playing more accurately.

Each workshop includes prep work sent out in advance (videos and written material). There are also plenty of opportunities for follow-up and staying connected with Jeff and with each other after the workshop. Prepare to have fun, learn a ton, and meet some amazing musicians like yourself from around the world.

Online Workshop April 7, 2 - 3:15pm EST: - Telling a Good Story (Motivic Playing) - $35
Improvising a solo isn’t just about finding inoffensive notes! Before too long, we want to actually tell a story with our instrument. We want the ability to take our audience on a journey. But how do we do that, and what are the tools we need to develop? Thelonious Monk was the master at motivic development, so we’ll use his classic song “Blue Monk” as our point of departure.

Each workshop includes prep work sent out in advance (videos and written material). There are also plenty of opportunities for follow-up and staying connected with Jeff and with each other after the workshop. Prepare to have fun, learn a ton, and meet some amazing musicians like yourself from around the world.

Online Workshop April 21, 2 - 3:15pm EST - Playing Longer Lines! - $35
The history of jazz is filled with amazing long melodic lines of 8th notes, and seemingly endless creativity. Yet, as a student, we are often coached to learn shorter ideas and to think motivically. How do we connect the two approaches, and what it the path forward to creating those great long lines? In this class, Jeff will show us some fantastic and attainable long lines, and we’ll build some together!

Each workshop includes prep work sent out in advance (videos and written material). There are also plenty of opportunities for follow-up and staying connected with Jeff and with each other after the workshop. Prepare to have fun, learn a ton, and meet some amazing musicians like yourself from around the world.
